My Bio:
I grew up in Quincy, Illinois and I have 4 sisters and 2 brothers. Growing up I spent a lot of time with my family and playing many sports. I made my way to Iowa on a soccer scholarship to St. Ambrose University and graduated in December 2011 from St. Ambrose University with an Early Childhood Special Education Degree.
After graduation, my first position was for 6 months at the Rock Island Regional Office of Education where I traveled between a preschool in Rock Island and Moline. Then, I taught for 2 years in the Davenport School District in an integrated preschool classroom. Now, closing in on my 5th year of teaching I have been a part of the Pleasant Valley School District teaching integrated preschool for 2 years. My next adventure begins as my co-teacher (Michaela Martens) and I open up a 2nd preschool program in the Pleasant Valley School District at Hopewell Elementary. All year we have been extremely busy prepping for the big move!
The past few years have been very exciting for me! On June 13, 2015 I married my husband and shortly after that we bought our first house and I started my Masters! Now, May 2016 my husband and I are expecting our first child at the end of the month! Outside of school I love spending time with family and friends, being active, running, working out, reading, or just enjoying the great outdoors with our Chesapeake Bay Retriever named Avery. My only fear for the next 2 years is to have adequate time for all the exciting things beginning in my life. I know through organizing and prioritizing the next 2 years in the Master’s Program are going to be challenging but very rewarding.
